The Open Physical Chemistry Journal

Bentham Science Publishers have gained a longstanding international reputation for their excellent standards and top quality science publications. Many journals published by Bentham Science Publishers have received high impact factors in their respective fields. For the current list of publications, please visit www.bentham.org. Seven Nobel Laureates have endorsed a number of Bentham ScienceÒs journals; please read their quotes at www.bentham.org/Nobel.htm

The publishers are now undertaking a new publication venture by launching a number of Open Access journals in 2007, devoted to varied disciplines in the fields of science and technology.

Open Access Journals are freely accessible via the Internet for immediate worldwide, open access to the full text of research articles for the best interests of the scientific community. All interested readers can read, download, and/or print any Open Access article at no cost. There are no subscription fees for Open Access journals. The modest Open Access publication costs are usually covered by the authorÒs institution or research funds. Moreover, authors who publish in our Open Access journals retain the copyright of their article. Open Access journals are no different from traditional subscription-based journals; they undergo the same peer-review and quality control as any other scholarly journal.

The Open Physical Chemistry Journal (OPC), a peer-reviewed Open Access journal, aims to publish original research articles in the field of physical chemistry related to the studies of molecules, materials, nanomaterials, devices, catalysis, surfaces and interfaces.

The journal aims to provide the most complete and reliable source of information on current developments in the field. The emphasis will be on publishing quality articles rapidly and openly available to researchers worldwide. All published articles will be deposited immediately upon publication in at least one widely and internationally recognized open access repository (such as PubMed Central).

The journal will be essential reading for scientists and researchers who wish to keep abreast of the latest developments in the field. The publishers are confident of the journalÒs rapid success.

The Journal of Physical Chemistry

Submit your high-impact manuscript now to the newly reorganized The Journal of Physical Chemistry

To help you choose where to publish your papers, Editor-in-Chief George C. Schatz describes the JournalÒs new and reorganized parts and sections in his editorial in Vol. 111, Issue 1:

"The passing of the New Year brings important changes to The Journal of Physical Chemistry. This is the first issue of the reorganized Journal, including the inaugural issue of JPC C, a journal that will emphasize nanomaterials, interfaces, catalysis, and special topics such as electron transport, electronic and optical devices and energy conversion and storage.

JPC A continues to cover many of the same topics as in the past, including dynamics, clusters, kinetics, spectroscopy, atmospheric and environmental chemistry, and molecular structure and theory, but with some reordering, and with two new categories: excited states and green chemistry.

JPC B has become the part of the Journal concerned with condensed matter topics, including macromolecules, soft matter, surfactants, membranes, thermodynamics, medium effects and biophysical chemistry. These new sections came about as a result of extensive discussions with the Editorial Advisory Committee and the Senior Editors, and I appreciate the many suggestions that I received."

Meet Editor-in-Chief George Schatz at ACS Publications booth #427 at the 233rd ACS National Meeting in Chicago

On Monday, March 26, at 2:00 pm, George Schatz, Morrison Professor at Northwestern University, will be at ACS Publications booth #427 at the 233rd ACS National Meeting in Chicago. Join Dr. Schatz as he speaks about the history of the Journal and the launch of the new Part C. Refreshments will be served.
