2nd INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM APAC 2010 on Air Pollution

Dear Colleagues:
We are pleased to announce the 2nd INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM APAC 2010, Air Pollution Abatement Catalysis, from SEPTEMBER 8th to 11th, 2010 in Cracow.

This international SYMPOSIUM will highlight THE FOLLOWING MAIN TOPICS :

  1. Mobile source emissions
    NOx treatment (NOx trap, NH3 SCR, HC SCR, H2 SCR) and Particulate Matter abatement from classical or renewable fuels will be the main topics of this session. Other subjects such as the catalysis for on‐board ammonia production or urea decomposition could be developed. (Session 1)
  2. Stationary sources for air and water treatment
    Abatement of atmospheric pollution by catalytic decomposition of N2O at high temperatures (nitric acid plants) and its catalytic reduction at medium temperatures will be the main subjects of this session. Catalytic NO reduction or decomposition in flue gases (coal, natural gas) and VOC treatment are also of interest. Additionally, wet catalytic oxidation of pollutants or photocatalysis will also be considered. (Session 2)
  3. Clean Fuels and Renewable Energy
    The main goal of the Conference is to discuss, at the both global and molecular level, topics relevant to the actual concepts and models of the catalysis involved in: The focus of this session is catalytic coal and biomass gasification and valorization to cleaner fuels. Thus, syngas and fuels production are the main subjects to be discussed. Processes such as reforming (oxy, dry, steam), partial methane oxidation (POM), chemical looping combustion (CLC), chemical looping reforming (CLR), water gas shift (WGS) and Fischer‐Tropsch reactions will also be considered at the both global and molecular level. (Session 3)
  4. Special attention will be paid to the design of catalysts based on new concepts and models and on modeling and simulation of materials and reactions.

The latest findings IN THESE FIELDS, including leading industrial and academic experts, will be presented in the form of PLENARY LECTURES, KEYNOTES, oral and poster presentations.

Selected oral and posters communications will be published in the Special Issue of the international journal "Catalysis Today", after usual refereeing procedure.
